AZUREE ND

Azuree is a typeface designed by Bauersche Giessere in 1908, simulating copperplate engraving, frequently used in cards. Today it is still an excellent choice for publishing projects, both for typographic compositions and for headlines, adding a romantic and rough touch at once.

Azuree is a Trademark of BauerTypes SL.

ABOUT

Azuree ND is a wide roman typeface with horizontal shading. It includes small caps and numerals. It is distinguished from many other stationery typefaces by the pointed apex on the “A”. It matches the Copperplate style and imitates copperplate engraving (a fashionable technique of the time). It works perfectly in printed publications, both for typographic compositions and for headlines.

Bauersche Gießerei was a German type foundry founded in 1837 by Johann Christian Bauer in Frankfurt am Main. In 1898 Georg Hartmann acquired the company, making it the world’s dominant manufacturer and distributor of lead typefaces. Famous font designers and artists, including Paul Renner, Lucian Bernhard, Walter Baum, Heinrich Jost, Imre Reiner, Friedrich Hermann Ernst Schneidler, Emil Rudolf Weiß and Heinrich Wieynck designed highly successful typefaces.
