ABOUT

The Grafía Latina concept was developed by the Catalan graphic designer Enric Crous-Vidal to describe the spirit of a typeface in keeping with Latin cultures. It exposes the need to create a new system of typographic structures and graphics, in typographic characters and decorative arabesques, in accordance with the Latin imagination and creativity, as opposed to the rigidity of Germanic typography, of cubic forms, drawn with ruler and compass.

Enric Crous Vidal (1908-1987) was born in Lleida (Spain). Soon he develops broad cultural interests that make him the promoter of the magazine Art. He moved to Paris, where he worked in Draeger Frères. Then held the position of Artistic Director of the Fonderie Typographique Française. He drives a new graphic design called ‘Graphie Latine’.
